This afternoon a billboard got my attention with the invitation: visit our ‘Fair on Spirituality’, for anyone interested to find a deeper self. Not that I crashed my car in total shock after reading this, but still.
A tweet today promised seven ways to give you spiritual power(?). Spiritual power, wow! It sounds like an advertisement from a new company hitting the jackpot by going to the stock-market. Just buy and see !
It is time to step up with a Tips and Trick part of the road to self-realisation
Ears and Eyes open. That is all.
1. With the word Spirituality everything that is beyond reason, is covered under the hood. From Religion to New Age, nothing excluded has gotten its place. In Religion you have to believe and for New Age you have to get into touch with your deepest feelings.
And for a deeper understanding of ‘ who YOU are ‘ well, neither believe nor deeper feelings will help you one single step. Perhaps it is me, but I always feel ambivalent working with the word spirituality. Truth is that I use it myself as well in communication, but Advaita Vedanta is as straightforward as it can be: no believe or feelings are needed to get full understanding of who YOU are. Ears and Eyes open. That is all.
Everything leads to Rome in the end.
2.You can’t do anything wrong on your search for deeper Knowledge. Everything leads to Rome in the end. And when you arrive, you know you never left home. Whatever inspires you is your way. You can do all forms of Yoga, learn eastern Massage or transform your House with the wonderful technic of Feng Shui. Enjoy it! Go for Tantra, a Vegetarian Lifestyle, or whatever it is in the catalogue of promising tools to learn.
Don’t get me wrong. I like working with the Tarot, Numerology and Astrology myself, but here it comes: to get an answer on the who am I question all these ancient skills get you near to nothing. On the contrary, they can give you a fake idea of being part of an exclusive group of so-called spiritual seekers.
Act accordingly and you will become more alert
3. Now and then Life is in a turmoil. It looks like we have to live on the clock. Our attention is needed on every aspect of our life. Then the way to handle this demanding period is enjoying the action. Sports, dancing and partying, playing music in a metal band, holidays with a lot of vibration, like rafting or biking and hiking are good to add to the calendar in hectic periods.
In other times we feel like living in a monastery. Every day we seem to follow the same easy pattern. No stress, no challenging situations. This is a natural pattern. Listen to that rhythm and enjoy the fact that the phone has stopped ringing and nothing urges your immediate attention. Then meditation in silent retreat, easy walks in isolated rural area’s, gardening, or vacations with your loved ones near the sea with lots of sand and sun relaxation are the best entertainment to go for.
Act accordingly and you will become more alert and open to the way Life unfolds itself in YOU. Surprisingly I often hear people talking about how they find themselves energetic persons and they need the action all the time. They say they easily get bored by giving up the fast changing action. This is so important, it needs another article from me to pay attention to boredom. This has to do with the need for change in scenery every moment of your life. Others cling to their peace and almost solitude lifestyle. They have forgotten to respond to waves full of sunburst. In both ways you have adjust yourself to the rhythm of the world of objects.
When you really want to get into a deeper understanding of who You are act like the rhythm of the weather: sometimes calm and peaceful, like a blizzard on other days. Learn to be in tune with the pace of Life, encounter with whatever is shown to you. It is the only and fastest way to reach full understanding.
